Geneva Autoshow 2018 - The Top-Twenty Reveals in Photos

Geneva Autoshow is the only European Autoshow to be held every year (Frankfurt and Paris take turns) and, as such, it is generally regarded as the premier Eu. venue for manufacturers to bring us their latest models and concept ideas. As with all modern autoshows there is a growing tendency to concepts rather than production models which is becoming increasingly frustrating and, may we suggest, helping to bring about the demise of the autoshow concept itself. However this years show had some interesting stuff – So scroll down for photos of our Top-Twenty picks.... (Alphabetical Order)

.

1/ Aston Martin/Red Bull Track version of their upcoming Valkyrie road car (likely to be a trend-setter itself)

2/ Audi A6 for 2019 (production model)

.

3/ BMW Concept M8 Gran Coupe Concept - Stated to be a preview of an upcoming model...

4/ Our favorite: David Brown Speedback - Silverstone Edition. Hand-built with a production run of only 10 priced at $870,000 a pop. Where our Lotto win money would go

5/ Honda-Urban-EV-Concept - Will see production but (we suspect) with some changes to this concept.

.

6/ Hyundai 'Le Fil Rouge' (The red 'wire/thread' or 'common thread' - You work it out!) Supposedly a visual guide to an upcoming brand image makeover.

.

7/ The 2019 Jaguar I-Pace - Electric only crossover SUV. Built to take on Tesla's Model X but cheaper at $70,500

8/ The Lagonda Vision Concept - Another attempt by Aston Martin to revive Lagonda - This time as a new all-electric luxury brand. We will see...

.

9/ Lamborghini Huracan Performante Spyder - Winner of our 'pointlessly long name' award but at least its a production model

.

10/ Lexus UX200 series - 2019 production model to take on the Buick Regal.

.

12/ McLaren Senna GTR. Track-only version of the Senna. $1.4M a pop and limited edition of only 75.

13/ Mercedes-AMG GT4 – Based on the GT concept shown last year. Now shown as a production model but based on a more mundane E-Class platform not a stretched AM GT chassis.

.

14/ Morgan Aero GT: Final version of the Aero model – Limited production of only 8.

.

15/ Rimac C2: See our separate story here:- Rimac C2

.

17/ Subaru Viziv Tourer Concept: Slated for production (with changes?) in 2020. Looks like a styling change for Subaru.

18/ Toyota Auris Hybrid - 2019 production model of this popular Japanese hatch.

.

19/ Not quite the Supra version we were expecting from Toyota. This GR track version of the new Supra was shown instead. Where is the road car Toyota?
